The mission of MAD is to initiate, support and accompany sustainable socio-political change within the arts. Fundamental and effective change requires a good and stable foundation which growth is possible.
The 5 basic principles of MAD have the following components through which profound art and cultural policy and therefore socio-political changes are possible:
PRINCIPLE OF PROFESSIONALITY
The MAD concept follows an orientation of professionalism in all areas. This is a guaranteed priority especially when collaborating with colleagues and partner institutions (co-production principle).
MIXED-ABLED PRINCIPLE
All participating teams and all levels of MAD projects, are evaluated based on their mixed-abled balance, whether artistic, organizational or theoretical.
CO-PRODUCTION PRINCIPLE
All of the projects of MAD strive to collaborate with existing institutions (co-productions), in order to ensure maximum structural inclusion.
PARTICIPATION & ACCESSIBILITY
This self-evident concern at MAD, which already exists in other countries, has creative solutions which can be expanded to education and training institutions as well as to some theaters, in Austria as well.
ART NOT THERAPY
MAD is an art project that has developed within an artistic and cultural context, wanting to initiate, impact and establish a paradigm shift within this context. Therefore, the MAD project differentiates itself clearly against forms of therapy.
